Here’s A List Of Local Veterans Day Programs

With Veterans Day this week, sever schools and organizations in the area are holding programs, ceremonies, services, and other events to show their gratitude for those who have served our country.

Here is a list of those activities for tomorrow. The Wadena City Library and Courthouse will be closed on November 11 in observance of Veterans Day as well.

Verndale Veteran Day Breakfast and Program

  • The Verndale School will hold a Veterans Day program at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 11 in the new gym. A breakfast to honor veterans will be served at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. The menu will include scrambled eggs, sausage, caramel roll, orange juice, milk, and coffee. The school’s band and choir will performs, essays will be recited by students, and Mark Anson will be the honored speaker. All veterans are invited to join for the breakfast and the program.

Staples-Motley Veterans Day Program

  • The Veterans Day program at the Staples-Motley high School gym starts at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 11. Retired Secret Service Agent Wes Budke will be speaking. Everyone is welcome to attend. There will also be a special breakfast for that all veterans are invited to attend at the Staples-Motley Elementary School at 9 a.m.

Bertha-Hewitt Veterans Day Program

  • Veterans Day Program, 10 a.m., 2000 Gym. All veterans and public welcome to attend. If you cannot attend, the program will be live streamed on the school’s YouTube Channel. The program will also be on Facebook Live on the Veterans Park, Wadena MN’s Facebook page. Veterans and spouses are invited to lunch in the cafeteria after the Veterans Day program, served by Student Council members.

Wadena VFW Free Veterans Supper

  • There will be a free supper for all veterans and their spouse at the Wadena VFW Post #3922. The meal will be served from 4-6 p.m.
