Minnesota Twins Name Rocco Baldelli As Manager

The Minnesota Twins have named former Tampa Bay Rays field coordinator Rocco Baldelli as their new manager.

The 37-year-old former outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox will be the new skipper after spending 8 years in the Tampa Bay Rays front office/coaching staff. Baldelli replaces Paul Moliter, who was fired after the end of the 2018 season.

Baldelli played over 500 games in the major leagues before having to retire early due to a rare muscular disorder. He takes over a Twins team that went 78-84 and was a major disappointment after making it to the AL Wild Card game in the season prior.
