Snowmobiler Injured In Hubbard County

One man was injured in a snowmobile crash in Hubbard County Saturday afternoon.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a snowmobile crash with injuries in the Paul Bunyan State Forest at 4:40 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies and medical staff responded to the scene which was two miles east of Hubbard County Road 91.

Authorities said that 70-year-old William Scepaniak of Albany was operating his eastbound on the Steamboat Forest Road when he lost control of his machine. Scepaniak’s machine went down a steep ditch, where it then struck a tree and he was thrown from the machine.

Scepaniak was complaining of head, back, and leg pain when he was being extricated up the hill.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office.
