Today is Veteran’s Day- the day to honor those who have served this great country.
It’s day where schools and clubs and communities pay their respects.
History.com put together a list of a few facts and tidbits about this day.
Maybe you knew everything. Maybe you didn’t. Maybe you forgot and just needed a refresher.
Some of the interesting facts that stand out to me:
- “In Europe, Great Britain and the Commonwealth countries it is common to observe two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. every November 11.”
- “7 million veterans served during the Vietnam War.”
- “3 million veterans have served in support of the War on Terrorism.”
