What Are You Buying Dad For Father’s Day?

Father’s day is Sunday and what does Dad really want?  And if you know what he doesn’t want, will you buy it for him anyway? 

Here’s the newest survey from over a thousand Dad’s around the country.

These are things Dad doesn’t want in order…

  1. Clothing
  2. Books/CD’s
  3. Greeting Cards
  4. Personal care items
  5. Gift Cards
  6. Automotive accessories
  7. Sporting goods
  8. Home Improvement items
  9. Tools or Appliances
  10. Electronics

Of the things Dad doesn’t want for Father’s day, family members say they’ll still buy Dad clothing, greeting cards and gift cards most often.  In fact, over 5 billion dollars is wasted on Father’s day gifts Dad doesn’t want.

Who buys the worst gifts for Dad?  Young people are going to buy Dad clothing, Baby Boomers and Women are most likely to buy Dad a card.  And the worst gifter in the family is…his sons.

So what would Dad most like on his day?  Almost 90 percent of Dad’s said they’d enjoy a special outing.
