Where Is Everyone Moving To In The U.S.?

This is the time of year that many of us think about moving somewhere else because of the cold winter weather.  So, where is the place that the most people have decided to move to?

U-Haul keeps track of where people are moving to and from on a yearly basis.  After 2 years of Texas and Florida being the #1 and 2 destinations, there’s a new #1.  From life style to plenty of jobs and being business friendly and having no income tax, people appear to be moving from the west coast to Tennessee.

Top 5 states where people are moving…

  1. Tennessee
  2. Texas
  3. Florida
  4. Ohio
  5. Arizona

These are the states people are leaving…

  1. California
  2. Illinois
  3. New Jersey
  4. Massachusetts
  5. Maryland

U-Haul has 22,000 locations across the U.S. and says one-way arrivals rose 12 percent to Tennessee in 2020.  Other states that are attracting new residents include Colorado, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina and Georgia.

Outside the top 10, Wisconsin is a respectable #13, Minnesota is #20, Iowa is #24, South Dakota #25 and North Dakota is #37.
