Perham, Minn (KWAD) – The Perham Yellowjackets boys basketball team will have a new leader for the 2025-26 season, as Head Coach Kyle Haberman has announced his resignation from both coaching and teaching at Perham High School.

Haberman expressed deep appreciation for the Perham community, saying, “The players, parents, administration, and community in Perham are the best in the state. I’m so proud to be a part of it. The basketball program will continue to thrive because of all of the great people who support it.”

After years in education, Haberman is pursuing a new career path. “I’ve been in the classroom since I was five. That’s all I know,” he said. “Since seventh grade, my mind has been focused on high school basketball. It’s time for my passion to shift toward my family.”

Perham Activities Director Erin Anderson praised Haberman’s impact. “Kyle brought incredible energy and deep commitment to our student-athletes,” Anderson said. “His efforts will leave a lasting mark, and while we’re sad to see him go, we’re excited for what’s ahead for him and his family.”

In just two seasons with Perham, Haberman led the Yellowjackets to a Heart O’Lakes Conference Championship in 2024-25, finishing 13-3 in conference play and 19-7 overall.

Before his time in Perham, Haberman coached at Lake Park-Audubon, where he earned two Section 6A Coach of the Year honors and led the Raiders to back-to-back section titles and their first-ever state tournament appearances.
