Baseball

The final full weekend of the regular season for our local town ball teams is in the books. Let’s take a quick look at the standing for the Lake and Pine and Hi-10 Leagues.

Friday, July 18th

Urbank – 4 @ Ashby – 2

  • The regular season is in the books for the Bombers, who enter the playoffs with AN==an 11-3 record and the 2025 Resorters League title!

Deer Creek – 10 @ Clarissa – 4

  • Travis George throws 7 innings of 2-run ball and Evan Lunde goes yard for homer no. 2 on the season

New York Mills – 9 @ Dent – 0

  • Millers take the victory in a forfeit

Henning – 3 @ Perham – 4

  • Austin Aanenson was dealing! The Pirates hurler racked up 17 strikeouts in a Friday night victory

Saturday, July 19th

Alexandria – 6 @ Sauk Centre – 12

Detroit Lakes – 5 @ Midway – 4 (F/10)

  • Needed extras to decide this matchup! Brandon Johnson comes away with 2 RBI in the victory for Detroit Lakes

Dilworth Raildogs – 9 vs. Detroit Lakes – 7 (In Midway)

Dilworth Raildogs – 3 @ Midway – 9

  • Snurdbirds splits in a 3-team round robin day of baseball in Midway
  • Fun fact from the Midway X account: Snurdbirds have never lost to the Raildogs

Deer Creek – 1 @ New York Mills – 2 (Game 1)

Deer Creek – 0 @ New York Mills – 1 (Game 2)

  • Nolan Coyle and Ashton Detloff battled in each game for the Shockers by going the distance in each game of the double header only allowing 3 total runs

Henning – 1 @ Clarissa – 6

  • Ryan Rydell throws a gem on the mound with a complete game performance allowing just one run
  • With the win, Clarissa clinches the no. 4 seed from the Hi-10 in Region 11C playoffs next week

Sunday, July 20th

Vergas – 0 @ Perham – 15 (Game 1)

  • Jan-Erik Lindberg earned a CG win in game one along with helping out his own cause by driving in 4 RBI in the win
  • Austin Aanenson also chipping in a 4 RBI performance in game one of the double dip

Vergas – 1 @ Perham – 10 (Game 2)

  • Chas Melvin had two hits and drove in 3 to give the Pirates a Sunday sweep in the doubleheader
  • The Pirates concluded the regular season with a 13-4 record and earned the No. 2 seed in the Hi-10 for the Region 11C Tournament Friday night

Roseau Royals – 9 vs. Detroit Lakes – 4 (In Hawley)
