FARGO, N.D. (KWAD) — Two people were killed and two others injured in two separate shootings early Sunday morning in Fargo, and police are now asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect tied to one of the incidents.
The first shooting occurred just before 2 a.m. outside District 64, a nightclub located in the 50 block of Broadway North in downtown Fargo. Officers arrived to find three adults with gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, another was hospitalized in critical condition, and the third suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The Fargo Police Department has identified 22-year-old Tyrque Jones of Fargo as a suspect in the downtown shooting. Authorities are actively searching for Jones, who has a history involving firearms. In a previous case, Jones was arrested in 2023 after allegedly robbing a couple of $3,300. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of terrorizing and was sentenced to 45 days in jail and one year of probation.
A second shooting was reported at 2:26 a.m. — about 30 minutes later and five miles away — at the Westwood Estates apartment complex in the 4700 block of 16th Avenue South. One person was fatally shot. Because Fargo officers were still at the nightclub scene, West Fargo Police were first to respond.
No arrests have been made in connection with either incident, and the identities of the victims have not been released.
“At this time, it is unknown whether this shooting is related to the earlier incident on Broadway,” Fargo Police said. “Detectives are actively working to determine any possible connection. There is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.”
Anyone with information on Tyrque Jones’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Fargo Police Department at 701-241-5777. Anonymous tips can be submitted by texting FARGOPD and your tip to 847411. Additionally, information related to either shooting can be reported to the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701-451-7660.
