PERHAM, Minn. (KWAD) — One of Minnesota’s sweetest success stories is in the running for statewide bragging rights. Kenny’s Candy & Confections’ popular Wiley Wallaby licorice has been nominated in the Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota contest, a bracket-style competition hosted by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.

The annual contest shines a spotlight on the wide range of innovative products created across the state — from farm equipment and furniture to food, footwear, and more. Each round pits two Minnesota-made products against each other, with the winners advancing thanks to public voting.

Wiley Wallaby is matched up against The Toro Company in the opening round. Fans can support the local favorite by visiting coolestthingmn.awardsplatform.com to register and cast their votes.

“We’re excited to see Wiley Wallaby recognized among the best products made right here in Minnesota,” said Sabrine O’Brien, Corporate Communications Specialist for KLN Family Brands. “It’s an honor to share the spotlight with so many outstanding companies, and we’d love the community’s help in pushing us through each round.”

The contest includes dozens of well-known names, such as Polaris, Bobcat, Red Wing Shoe Company, Hormel Foods, and Faribault Mill. The eventual winner will earn the title of Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota, a recognition of both product innovation and community pride.

Supporters are encouraged to share the voting link, print flyers, and spread the word to friends and neighbors. Voting takes only a few moments but could make a big difference for Kenny’s Candy & Confections and their signature Wiley Wallaby brand.

In it’s first matchup, Kenny’s Candy goes up against Toro.

“Every vote counts,” O’Brien added. “Help us show that Wiley Wallaby is not just delicious — it’s the coolest thing made in Minnesota.”
