WADENA, Minn.– Wadena-Deer Creek girls basketball continued their strong start the the season with a 58-25 victory against the Thief River Falls Prowlers. This was the Wolverines first Section 8AA victory to improve to 1-1 in section play on the young season.
The Wolverines defense stood tall, holding the Prowlers to just 11 points in the first half. Offensively, Payton Gravelle led the charge for WDC by scoring 18 points. Lily Parker also chipped in 12 points. Ashley Pavek and Kennedy Ness both added 10 points each on the scoreboard.
“Solid defensive effort [Friday night] against TRF after a bit of a sluggish start,” said Wadena-Deer Creek head girls basketball coach Jordan Cresap. “Payton Gravelle had a great all around game for us and Lily Parker was an energetic spark. Ashley Pavek has played very well the last two nights as well.”
