
On 1/6/26, at about 6:45pm, first responders responded to the report of a structure fire on the northeast side of the city of New York Mills.
Units arrived on scene where a detached 24×32 shed had been engulfed in flames. The New York Mills Fire Department, assisted by the Bluffton Fire, and Perham Fire, were able to extinguish the fire. The shed and its contents were a total loss. There were no reported injuries at the time of the fire. The fire was believed to originate from an electric heat lamp. Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office and the New York Mills Police Department also assisted with the incident.
