Sgt. Bryan Savaloja Announces Candidacy for Sheriff of Wadena County

With the upcoming retirement of Sheriff Carr, Bryan Savaloja, a 19-year veteran of the Wadena Sheriff’s Office, announced his candidacy for Sheriff.

“For nearly two decades, I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside Sheriff Carr, a strong leader who built a professional, respected Sheriff’s Office,” said Savaloja. “As he prepares to retire, I’m running to continue that legacy and lead the next chapter.”

Savaloja has served in several areas of the Sheriff’s Office, including: patrol, K9 deputy, Sgt/Jail Administrator/PSAP Supervisor. and Sgt/Investigator; allowing firsthand experience in law enforcement operations, jail administration, and community engagement.

“My experience means continuity, stability, and leadership that’s ready on day one,” Savaloja said. “I believe in supporting our staff, maintaining public trust, and making smart improvements while being fiscally responsible to meet the needs of Wadena County.”

If elected, Savaloja will focus on:
•    Maintaining strong public safety standards
•    Supporting staff through training and leadership
•    Building on the positive relationship between the Sheriff’s Office and the community
    •    Working with the communities and their leaders within the county to maintain positive working relationships that prioritize public safety for all residents.
“I’m proud of the work we’ve done,” Savaloja added. “Now, I’m ready to serve our county as Sheriff.”
