St. Paul, Minn (KWAD) – Veteran radio executive Dan Seeman has been named a 2026 inductee into the Minnesota Broadcasters Hall of Fame, honoring a career that has helped shape modern broadcasting across the state.
Seeman’s broadcasting journey began in 1982 as an intern at WLOL, launching what would become more than four decades of leadership in radio. Over the years, he worked his way through nearly every level of the industry, serving in roles spanning research, promotions, general manager, market manager, regional manager, and ultimately President and Region Manager for Minnesota at Hubbard Broadcasting.
During his tenure, Seeman played a key role in developing some of Minnesota’s most recognizable radio brands. He helped launch KFAN and provided leadership for Twin Cities stations including KS95, myTalk 107.1, and KDWB. His influence extended beyond the Twin Cities as well, guiding Hubbard Radio stations in Alexandria (KIK FM and Cool 94.3), Brainerd (106.7 WJJY, The Power Loon, B93, KLIZ The Fan and Cool 103.5), Bemidji (KB101, 95.5 KZY, KBUN Sports Radio, and z99), and Wadena (The Superstation K106, KWAD, KNSP The Fan), while helping usher Minnesota broadcasting into the modern era of digital content and podcasting.
Under Seeman’s leadership, stations within the Hubbard Radio group earned dozens of national broadcasting honors, including Marconi Awards, Crystal Awards, Gracie Awards, and the prestigious Crystal Heritage Award.
In 2019, Seeman himself was recognized with one of the industry’s most respected honors when the National Association of Broadcasters named him Legendary Manager of the Year with the NAB Marconi Award.
While his professional accomplishments are extensive, colleagues say Seeman’s legacy reaches well beyond ratings and accolades. Through charitable initiatives such as KS95 for Kids and numerous community partnerships, the stations he led have helped raise tens of millions of dollars for Minnesota charities, supporting families and organizations across the state.
Seeman has also served on the boards of several organizations, continuing to use the platform of broadcasting to benefit communities throughout Minnesota.
Those who have worked with him say one of Seeman’s defining traits is his commitment to people in the industry. Known as a passionate advocate for broadcasters, he has spent much of his career mentoring, encouraging, and developing the next generation of radio talent.
His induction into the Minnesota Broadcasters Hall of Fame recognizes not only a lifetime of professional achievement, but also a lasting impact on Minnesota’s broadcasting community and the audiences it serves.
The rest of the 2026 induction class includes Frank Vascellaro, Amelia Santaniello, Belinda Jensen, Dan Gladden, Dave Ryan, Gregg Swedberg and Mylan Ray.
