DETROIT LAKES, MINN (KWAD) – The Detroit Lakes Public Library will host an author presentation featuring Patty Wetterling and co-author Joy Baker on Wednesday, May 13.
The event will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. and will focus on Patty’s memoir, Dear Jacob: A Mother’s Journey of Hope.
The book shares Patty Wetterling’s personal account of the 30-year search for her son, Jacob Wetterling, whose 1989 disappearance became one of Minnesota’s most widely known missing child cases and helped reshape child safety laws nationwide. During the program, Wetterling will discuss the emotional toll of the decades-long search, the community support surrounding the case and the partnership they formed while working on the book. Baker’s independent research later contributed to breakthroughs in the investigation.
A book signing will follow the presentation, and copies of Dear Jacob will be available for purchase at the event.
