Pay What You Can • Original Live Music • All Are Welcome
NEW YORK MILLS, MN, March 9, 2026—The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center (NYMRCC) invites the public to an evening of original Americana and folk music with multi-award-winning songwriter Jordan Messerole on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7:00 p.m.
The performance is part of the Cultural Center’s 2026 Winter/Spring Concert Series and is offered as Pay What You Can, with no tickets required, thanks to grant support from the Lake Region Arts Council. All are welcome to attend.
Multi-award-winning songwriter Jordan Messerole is an Americana musician from central Minnesota whose songs are deeply rooted in Midwestern landscapes and storytelling traditions. Inspired by the flora, fauna, and wide-open spaces of the native tallgrass prairie, Messerole writes thoughtful songs that explore themes of love and loss, success and failure, and the complexities of everyday life. Blending expressive guitar work, engaging lyrics, and the occasional rack harmonica, his music brings gritty American stories to life. His songwriting has earned recognition placing him alongside artists such as John Prine, Jason Isbell, and John Hiatt.
Jordan’s songwriting is “both deeply personal and rooted in place,” making his music a perfect match for the Cultural Center’s listening-room live music experience, where audiences can connect closely with artists and their stories. The Center is located at 24 North Main Avenue in New York Mills. Seating is first come, first served. A cash bar and light refreshments will be available.
The Pay What You Can concert series helps ensure that live music remains accessible to everyone in the community. While grant funding helps cover artist fees and promotion, community contributions help sustain the program and bring more original live music to rural West-Central Minnesota.
