Astera Health Welcomes First Baby Of 2026

WADENA, Minn. – Jan. 6, 2025 – Astera Health celebrated the first birth of 2026. On January 2 at
5:22 p.m., Beth and Jesse Mitchell welcomed Quinn Beth in the Obstetrics department at Astera
Health. Dr. Shaneen Schmitt delivered baby Quinn, assisted by nurse Sharon Cottrell.

Quinn weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long at birth. She has five siblings: Emery,
Hayden, Sutton, Lennox, and Warren. Her grandparents are Charlie and Mary Schornack, and Matt
and Stacey Mitchell.

The family received a care package from the Astera Health Foundation to commemorate the special
occasion. The package included baby toys, diapers, bathing tub, and baby supplies placed in a
wagon and presented to the parents before they were discharged.
