Frazee Fly Girls post strong results at PACT Charter School competition

Ramsey, Minn (KWAD) – The Frazee Fly Girls Dance Team traveled to PACT Charter School on Saturday, January 3, to compete in a combined Single A and Double A meet, turning in several strong performances against a deep field of teams.

The Junior Varsity Jazz team earned a second-place finish after losing a tiebreaker for first place with St. Cloud Crush JV Jazz. The Fly Girls posted an overall score of 186 and received the highest marks in the Technique of Leaps and Jumps category, along with Overall Routine Effectiveness.

Frazee’s Varsity Jazz team delivered its best performance of the season, earning a score of 286 to place third overall. The Fly Girls finished behind St. Cloud Crush in first and North Branch in second—both Double A programs. The team scored particularly well in Overall Routine Effectiveness, earning a 32 in that category. Coaches noted the team worked extensively over the holiday break to improve accuracy and control, which was evident in Saturday’s performance.

The Varsity Kick team placed fifth after dropping a tiebreaker for fourth with host PACT Charter School. Frazee finished with a score of 269 and received its highest scores in Creativity and Difficulty of Choreography. St. Cloud Crush claimed first place in kick, followed by Marshall in second and Rockford in third.

The Frazee Jazz teams will be back in action Thursday night at the Heart of the Lakes Jazz Conference meet at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton. Competition begins at 6 p.m., with JV Jazz scheduled to perform at 6:35 p.m. and Varsity Jazz at 7:15 p.m.
