FRAZEE, Minn (KWAD) — The Frazee Fly Girls Dance Team welcomed a packed gym Friday night, hosting a successful home invitational that featured strong performances and season-best results across all levels.

The invite drew teams from Bagley, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, Pelican Rapids, Mahnomen-Waubun, Crookston, Hawley, Wadena-Deer Creek/Parkers Prairie Rhythemettes,  Duluth Marshall , and Pierz.

The JV Jazz squad delivered a milestone performance, earning its first placement of the season with a second-place finish. The Fly Girls were especially strong in the difficulty of formations and transitions and overall routine effectiveness categories. Pierz claimed first place in the JV Jazz division.

In Varsity Jazz, Frazee posted its highest score of the season, finishing with 282 points and a second-place result. Judges rewarded the Fly Girls with top marks in technique of leaps and jumps, visual effectiveness, and routine effectiveness. DGF captured first place in the varsity jazz category.

The Varsity Kick team continued the momentum, recording its best score of the season with 277 points and a third-place finish. Frazee’s highest scoring areas included creativity, visual effectiveness, and difficulty of kicks. Bagley earned first place in kick, followed by DGF in second.

Despite the strong performances, each Frazee squad competed short-handed due to illness or injury. The team now heads into two weeks of winter break, allowing dancers time to rest and recover before returning to competition.

The Fly Girls will be back on the floor January 3 at PACT Charter School.
