HENNING, Minn.– After making the 2025 MSHSL State Boys Basketball Tournament a season ago, a Henning boys basketball senior announced another bug milestone.
Henning Hornets boys basketball senior guard Kale Misegades signed his national letter of intent (NLI) on Wednesday to continue his basketball career for the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs. The Mustangs play at the NCAA Division-II level and compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).

Misegades announced his informal commitment to the Mustangs earlier this spring via social media on May 30. Wednesday’s signing now makes that decision official.
“[There was] anywhere from five to eight teams that I was in contact with,” said Misegades in an interview with the Morning Sports Desk after his signing. “Just a lot of coaches here and there just texting or talking to me after games. Once I got the offer from SMSU, I knew that’s exactly where I wanted to go.”
The Mustangs finished 21-6 a season ago with a 16-6 NSIC record and reached the Division-II NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament.

With one more season in orange and black on the horizon, Misegades will lead the defending Section 6A champions. Henning went 29-4 last season to capture their third straight Park Region Conference title, finishing as the Consolation Champions (5th place) at state.
Practice for the Hornets officially begins on Monday to kick off their 2025-26 boys basketball season.
