
NEW YORK MILLS, Minn.– The 3rd Annual Highway 10 Cup Challenge is coming this Monday as the New York Mill Eagles will host the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines in a boys basketball challenge.
Every game of the Highway 10 Cup will be broadcast live on 101.7FM/AM920 KWAD and online at wadenaradio.com/kwad with coverage starting just before the first game at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
Both teams will battle to “win the road” with games featuring the current stars and the players of tomorrow. Games will feature matchups with both team’s elementary teams all the way up to varsity.
Here is the full schedule of games for the event:
- 3:30 p.m. – 6th Grade Team 1 (Sports Center)
- 4 p.m. – 3rd Grade (Activity Center)
- 4:30 p.m. – C-Squad (Sports Center)
- 4:45 p.m. – 4th Grade (Activity Center)
- 5:30 p.m. – 5th Grade (Activity Center)
- 5:30 p.m. – JV Game (Sports Center)
- 6:15 p.m. – 6th Grade Team 2 (Activity Center)
- 7:00 p.m. – Varsity Game (Sports Center)
The highway 10 Showdown is a challenge between the New York Mills Eagles and the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines boys basketball programs. All levels from 3rd grade-varsity play on the same day (junior high excluded this season due to their season already completed) The program that finishes with the better record at the end of the night takes the reward of a traveling trophy back to their respective school.
All youth games (3rd-6th grade) will be played at the NYM Activity Center. Youth games will be two, 15-minute running time halves with 2 timeouts per game. The clock will stop in the last two minutes of the game.
C-Squad game will be 2, 14-minute halves with 3 timeouts per team.
The radio broadcast will feature all the action, including interviews of coaches and players throughout the afternoon.
