On 11/13/2025 at 10:06pm, Otter Tail County Dispatch received the report of a shop on fire at an address in the 53000 block of 370th Street in Newton Township.

The fire stemmed from a spark caused by an angle grinder cutting tin siding earlier in the day. Damages from the fire were minor smoke damage, damage to insulation and siding and a structural loss to a small portion of the shop. No injuries stemmed from the incident. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Fire Departments from New York Mills and Perham.
