LONG PRAIRIE, Minn (KWAD) — Deep packs decided both varsity races at the LPGE Cross-Country Invite at Long Prairie Country Club, where Parkers Prairie’s girls and the Sauk Centre’s boys ran away with team championships.

Parkers Prairie used a front-loaded trio and steady depth to win with 63 points. Norah Froslee (4th, 21:17), Kaylee Vogt (5th, 21:26) and Sophie Pfeffer (6th, 21:29) set the tone before Chloe Patrick (18th) and Izabella Vogt (30th) closed the scoring.

Holdingford grabbed second with 76 behind Rilee Breth (3rd, 21:11) and top-32 finishes from Bara Uhrova (10th), Loretta Mrosla (15th), Lilli Leither (16th) and Olivia Klasen (32nd).

Sauk Centre was a tight third at 79 led by Kahlen Suelflow (3rd overall in team scoring; 20:46 actual 3rd overall) with support from Victoria Linschied (12th), Alivia Nathe (19th), Megan Uphoff (22nd) and Olivia Marsh (25th).

Karissa Anderson of Border West, who won the Johanna Olson Memorial Invite in Wadena last week, took first at Long Prairie Country Club, breaking the tape at 19:47.

Other top-10 area finishers: Anna Boyle (Morris/CA) finished fourth, Alainna Dobson (Pillager) placed 7th and Bellanie Kalis (Pillager) 8th. Frazee’s Rilynn Ruiz placed 13th to lead the Hornets; LPGE’s Caylee Kuehne was 14th; A-B-E’s Lauren Thoennes took 9th.

On the boys side, Sauk Centre stacked five scorers inside the top nine to post a meet-low 22 points (1-3-4-5-9). Junior Logan Wiehoff won the race with a time of 16:42.0, and teammates Jacob Drevlow (3rd, 17:19), Zaron Olmschenk (4th, 18:24), Landon Buysse (5th, 18:33) and Ben Friedrichs (9th, 18:57) slammed the door. Evan Peterson (19th) and Sawyer Deters (29th) showed just how much depth Sauk Centre has this season.

Holdingford rode runner-up Quinn Guthrie (16:46) and a five-man pack—Matthew Tschida (8th), Caleb Kurtz (11th), Cameron Martini (12th) and Jacob Loehlein (15th)—to 48 points and second place.

Melrose Area finished third with 72, led by Cooper Wolff (6th), Will Smith (10th) and Sullivan Stumler (13th).
