The Radiothon to End Child Abuse is an annual 24-hour awareness and
fundraising broadcast on Cool 94.3 and KIK-FM. The Radiothon started in
1987 and has grown to include Hubbard Broadcasting stations located in
Alexandria, Bemidji, Brainerd, and Wadena. This year’s event marks the
event’s 34th year of bringing communities together to act on behalf of
children and families in deep and substantial ways. Funds raised benefit local
county initiatives and statewide programs that keep families strong and safe.
Counties participating in the Alexandria Radiothon include: Douglas County
Child Abuse Prevention Council, Grant County Child & Youth Council, and
Todd County PEACE Council.

Why Prevention Matters
Parenting is hard and all parents experience stress. When parents are facing stressful, challenging
circumstances, sometimes they struggle to cope and it puts their children at risk of abuse or neglect.
Imagine a community where every parent had someone they could turn to in the most stressful
parenting conditions. This is what Radiothon donations support – programs that strengthen families
in your community and across Minnesota.
