Rosters Announced for 2025 Minnesota High School Football All-Star Game

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn (KWAD) – The Minnesota Football Coaches Association (MFCA) has officially released the rosters for the 2025 Minnesota High School Football All-Star Game, set for Saturday, December 13 at 1 p.m. inside U.S. Bank Stadium. The annual showcase brings together the state’s top senior players from across all classes for one final high school game, pitting the North All-Stars against the South All-Stars in a clash of Minnesota’s elite.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Minnesota Football Coaches Association and the Tackle Cancer Campaign.

The North All-Stars sees a lot of area talent making the team, including DB Colbe Tappe of Staples-Motley, OT Earl Brown of Pillager, K Sawyer Riffle of Brainerd, DT Jack Morrissette and OT Evan Zabel of Alexandria, OG Brady Goihl of Melrose, WR Miles Gish of Bemidji, WR Tanner Stech of Mahnomen/Waubun, and RB David Erlandson of Breckenridge.

Staples-Motley head coach Drew Potter is on a North coaching staff that also includes Chris Grabowska of Fergus Falls and Kevin Pope of Morris Area. The North’s head coach is Justin Voss of North Branch.

North All-Stars

The North’s offense is guided by quarterback Kayden Harney (Maple Grove), a South Dakota State commit, and Thomas McEachern (Zimmerman). Running backs include Kevin Ndirangu (Forest Lake), Calvin Coopersmith (Centennial) and David Erlandson (Breckenridge), who topped 1,500 rushing yards for the 6A champion Cowboys. A deep receiving corps features Joseph Mapson (Andover), Godson Rufus-Okomhanru (Mounds View), who is verbally committed to NDSU, J’marion Sanders (Minneapolis North), Sawyer Brown (Becker), Miles Gish (Bemidji), Tanner Stech (Mahnomen-Waubun) and tight end Dan Riley (Maple Lake). UND commit Sawyer Riffle (Brainerd) handles the kicking duties.

On offense, the North boasts a massive line led by 6-foot-6, 275-pound tackle Andrew Trout, a future Gopher. He’s joined in the trenches by tackles Matthew Perusse (Maple Grove) who is committed to Montana State, Jerome Eichele (Blaine), South Dakota State commit Noah Dietel (Litchfield) and Evan Zabel (Alexandria), who is headed to UND next fall. Guards Earl Brown (Pillager) who is going to play for the Bison at NDSU, UND commit Brady Goihl (Melrose) and Ashton Tucker (Champlin Park) will provide interior protection. Centers are Julian Wanna (Monticello) and Tyler Curnow (Stillwater), who is verbally committed to Montana State to throw discus.

Defensively, the North features a punishing front, headlined by future Gopher defensive tackle Howie Johnson (Forest Lake), who set the state record with 108 career tackles for loss. He is joined inside by Iowa State commit Khalid Afuye (Stillwater), Jack Morissette (Alexandria) and Bryce Nordlund (Zimmerman). On the edge, the North rolls out Josh O’Shea (Centennial), Simon Vinton (Orono), St. Thomas-commits Peyton Allen (Sartell), and Jaxson Bartkowicz (Holdingford), who is quarterbacking the 6AA champion Huskers to the State Semifinals this weekend.

Linebacker is another strength. Inside backers include Oliver Spahn (Grand Rapids), who topped 90 tackles with 10 sacks, along with Ryder Skanson (Maple Grove), Sawyer Thomson (Spring Lake Park), Garrett Bauer (Monticello) and Dylan Widner (Stephen-Argyle Central). On the outside, Oliver Kuhn (Breck) and Calan Pilon (Robbinsdale Armstrong) patrol the perimeter.

The secondary is anchored by shutdown corner Brayden Dozier (Maple Grove), an NDSU commit. He’s joined by Phillip Sieh (Osseo), two-sport standout Easton Ridlehoover (UMD baseball commit), Gabe Westman (Annandale), South Dakota commit Levi Harris (Elk River) and St. Cloud State baseball commit Colbe Tappe (Staples-Motley).

South All-Stars

Offensively, the South attack is headlined by the state’s top recruit, Roman Voss (Jackson County Central), a Gopher commit who will play quarterback in this game before moving to tight end in college. He’s joined at quarterback by Nathan Ramler (Chanhassen). The backfield is loaded with Caleb Francois (Minnetonka), an Iowa State commit, along with Caleb Kamara (Burnsville), Brody Schmidt (Rochester Mayo) and Trevor Sheldrup (Mankato West).

The receiving corps includes Jacob Hartman (Minneapolis Southwest), Augustana commit Micah Finney (Norwood Young America), Micah Bush (Hills-Beaver Creek), who is headed to SDSU, and Kaisen Johnson (Chatfield), along with tight ends Everett Eichten (Minneapolis Washburn) and Isaac Spencer (Stewartville). Up front, the South offensive line is massive, led by Ethan Beckman (Prior Lake), an Iowa State commit, and Owen Linder (Chanhassen), who is verbally committed to Iowa. They’re joined by South Dakota commit Jayveon Kelly (Bloomington Kennedy), Brayden Petzel (Mankato East), who will play for Northern Illinois in the fall, Parker Maloney (St. Peter), guards Brady Struble (Rosemount), UMD commit Ethan Sather (Eden Prairie), SDSU-bound Weston Rowe (Jackson County Central), Samuel McGill (Albert Lea), and centers Aidan Zapzalka (Minnetonka) and Tyler Bicknase (Fairmont).

Up front, the South defense is led by Sawyer Jezierski (Edina), a 6-foot-4, 270-pound Iowa commit, joined at defensive tackle by Josh Bergan (Lakeville South) and Southwest Minnesota State commit JR Vierstraete (Marshall). Defensive ends include Montana State commit Gavin Walden (Eden Prairie), Skyler Werner (Prior Lake), Augustana commit Kyson Arndt (Minneota) and Arsene Lukong (Rochester John Marshall).

The back seven features a pair of standout defensive backs that are heading to NDSU in Deron Russell (Waseca) and Q Barnslater (Apple Valley). Jaidyn Garibaldi (Benilde-St. Margaret’s) will double as the South’s kicker. The secondary also features Sam Summer (Chaska), future Tommie Jeremiah Peterson-Gordon (Kasson-Mantorville) and Pierce Petersohn (Triton), a Penn State tight end recruit that recently re-opened his recruitment. At linebacker, the South rolls out NDSU commit Daniel Devine (Academy of Holy Angels), UMD commit Roman Johnson (Lakeville North), Kane Larson (Fillmore Central), Nick Thein (Pine Island), and inside backers Max Jones (Rosemount), Chris Rehak (Farmington), Jack Carlson (Goodhue) and Xavier Banjoko (Pipestone).
