PARKERS PRAIRIE, Minn.– Parkers Prairie Panthers (11-7) girls basketball saw their four game winning streak snapped at the hands of the West Central Area Knights (9-7) by a score of 56-45.

A battle between the two teams in the first half led to a 28-20 score in favor of the Knights. The Panthers couldn’t bridge the gap and their winning streak came to a close. Over that four game span, the Panthers defeated their Little Eight Conference opponents over Ashby, Brandon/Evansville, Battle Lake, and Benson.

“Our girls fought but we just gave the Knights a few too many opportunities from our mistakes. That, combined with not converting on some good opportunities offensively, and WCA was able to pull away,” said Parkers Prairie Panthers head girls basketball coach Hunter Haggenmiller.

The Panthers (11-8) will look to start a new winning streak next week. Parkers Prairie travels to Hancock on Thursday for a Little Eight Conference matchup against the Owls with a 7:15 p.m. tip-off.

West Central Area (10-7) has another Section 6A regular season game again when the Knights host the Underwood Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Monday night.
