Our next Wolverine Player Spotlight puts the focus on Grant Nelson, a senior on the Wadena-Deer Creek cross country team.

Grant had a huge race last week, finishing in 8th place at the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota last week!

Here is what head cross country coach Mike Brunsberg had to say about Grant’s performance last week.

“The first thing that comes to mind is consistency. His approach is very intentional, purposeful, and focused. The early results have shown that he’s a Top 10 runner in most any race–with three Top 6 finishes in his first three meets. And still, it feels as if Grant’s ceiling moving forward is high. Grant has been setting the pace in practice and has led his teammates in going out aggressively on race day–to see what is possible on that day. The possibilities for Grant and company are encouraging!”
