Another hot weekend in central Minnesota was also filled with local amateur baseball! Let’s take a look at the results from this weekend’s action.

 

Friday, July 10

Henning – 8 vs. Midway – 3

  • Nick Lindberg went the distance on the mound, pitching a complete game while racking up 10 strikeouts

Deer Creek – 5 @ Perham – 3

  • It was a good day for the baseball veterans of Deer Creek. 42 year old Nolan Coyle went 8 strong before giving away to 40 year old Travis George who recorded the save in the 9th inning for the Shockers
  • Erik Lindberg collects 3 hits and 2 RBI for Perham

Saturday, July 11

Clarissa – 0 @ Sebeka – 1

  • Game goes just 7 innings due to heat but the Stingers pitching was hotter, recording a shutout victory

Sunday, July 12

Detroit Lakes – 1 @ Bluffton – 8 (Game 1)

Detroit Lakes – 4 @ Bluffton – 5 (Game 2)

Deer Creek 12 @ Clarissa – 7 (8 innings) (Game 1)

  • Down to their last out, James Seelhammer ties the game in the 7th inning with a 3 run home run and Deer Creek wins in extra innings over the Flyers

Deer Creek – 5 @ Clarissa – 4 (Game 2)

  • Colby Schertler knocks in a pair of RBI to pace the Shocker lineup
  • Blake Haverkamp closes the door to capture a sweep for the Shockers

Midway – 2 @ Nimrod – 4

  • Clay Erickson and Gunnar Ament were solid on the mound, holding the Snurdbird lineup to just 2 runs in the win

Hawley – 3 @ Sebeka – 0

Hawley – 14 @ Sebeka – 0

Perham – 10 @ Henning – 0

  • Maddux Kovash led the way for Perham on the mound, allowing no runs on 6 hits
  • Jaden Meyer led the Pirate lineup with 3 RBI while going 2-4 from the no. 8 spot in the lineup
