DETROIT LAKES, MN (KWAD) — Two Minnesota musicians gaining national attention are joining the WE Fest 2027 lineup. Chris Tungseth of Fergus Falls, a Top 5 finalist on American Idol, and Brooklyn Marie of Alexandria, currently competing in the Battle Rounds on NBC’s The Voice, will perform at the festival August 4–7, 2027, in Detroit Lakes.
“With four music stages, WE Fest continues to expand opportunities for emerging artists to perform alongside some of country music’s biggest names,” said WE Fest owner Matt Mithun. “Taylor Swift was 18 when she first played WE Fest. Brooklyn Marie will now be the youngest performer ever at WE Fest.”
Tungseth earned national recognition with his Top 5 finish on American Idol, while 14-year-old Brooklyn Marie has impressed audiences with her vocal range and songwriting. A member of Team Kelly on The Voice, Brooklyn released two original songs in 2026, “i miss u” and “Tired,” and has drawn comparisons to a young Dolly Parton and Taylor Swift.
The 2027 lineup includes headliners: Tim McGraw, The Red Clay Strays, Riley Green. Also performing: Sam Barber, Russell Dickerson, Dustin Lynch, Midland, Ole 60, Waylon Wyatt, Braxton Keith, George Birge, Neal McCoy, Tracy Byrd, Kassi Ashton, Tyce Delk, Sela Campbell, Colton Bowlin, Just Jayne, Landon Wilks, Rob Langdon, Chris Tungseth, The Mighty Pines, Slamabama, Van & The Free Candies, The Woodland Spring, Jamie Hansen, 49th Parallel, Brady Robertson, Elijah O’Sullivan, Brooklyn Marie.
