Alexandria, Brainerd, and Bemidji are all represented the Semifinal rounds of the Section 8AAA Girls Tennis Tournament.

In the team tournament, top seeded Elk River beat Buffalo 7-0 and St. Cloud Tech 6-1 to play Alexandria in the Section Championship on Friday at StaFit at 5:30. The Cardinals dropped Monticello 6-1 and Brainerd 5-2 for their spot in the Championship round.

In the Singles Tournament, the semifinals are set with Paige Tarrolly of St. Cloud Tech vs. Bryn Bartus of STMA in one match and Taryn Mithun of Brainerd vs. Megan Beack of STMA in the other.

Mithun advanced to the semis after beating Katya Aliakseichyk of Elk River 6-3, 6-0 in the first round and June Streit of St. Cloud Tech in the quarterfinals 7-5, 7-5.

The Doubles Tournament semifinals will feature Mya Nelson and Tillie Johnson of Elk River vs. Samantha Voll and Julie DuChene of Monticello one side of the bracket and Kennedy Stevenson and Addison Stevenson of Alexandria Area vs. Megan Berg and Elizabeth Peterson of Bemidji on the other side.

Stevenson/Stevenson beat Paisyn Wiley and Haidyn Holker of Monticello 6-2, 6-0 in the first round and Brooke Engebretson and Josie Hughes of Elk River 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals. While Berg/Peterson dropped Sophia Erickson and Bella Newbauer of St. Cloud Tech 7-5, 7-5 and Kamryn Kraemer and Ava Haskell of Brainerd 6-3, 6-1.
