Information For 2023 Wadena Flag Day Program

Wednesday, June 14 is Flag Day and several organizations in Wadena are coming together to honor old glory.

The Wadena Elks Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and The Veterans Park Committee are holding a Flag Day Program tomorrow beginning at 7 p.m. at the Wadena Veterans Park to pay respect to the honor and tradition of the American Flag.

The program will include the National Anthem followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There will also be a display of old flags along with the history of the U.S. flag. Local Boy Scouts will be on hand to fold a flag, including a demonstration and explanation of the 13 folds. Information about proper retirement of unserviceable flags will also be included. Organizers add that spectators should bring their own chairs. Refreshments will be served as well.

The museum will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. through Labor Day and on the 4th of July.
