The 32nd Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held tomorrow afternoon at St. Ann’s Parish Center in Wadena to offer a free meal together with Wadena and surrounding area residents.

Organizer and volunteer Paul Hunke shares his knowledge of the event along with what it takes to put together a community Thanksgiving dinner that serves hundreds across the region. You can listen to the interview below.

The meal will take place from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and include a Thanksgiving dinner with all of the fixings. Turkey will be provided by The BBQ Smokehouse in Wadena. Food will also feature gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberries, vegetables, dinner roll, and pumpkin bars. The dinner is a free will donation with all proceeds of non-perishable foods and money going to the Wadena Food Shelf.

Residents, friends, and family are all invited to St. Ann’s for the event. Hunke says those who aren’t able to make the dinner at the church can have meals delivered to them at your home. To request a meal or for any meal delivery questions, those can be answered by calling 218-631-2617.

Hunke says the event has grown over the years so anyone who would like to come around 8 a.m. Thanksgiving morning to help would be appreciated.  Volunteers can come  to help and go as they please setting up tables, preparing, serving and delivering meals, also take down and clean up tasks. Volunteers will get to enjoy a big plate of the Thanksgiving dinner as well. For more information on how to volunteer, contact 218-631-4042 (extension 4).

Have a great Thanksgiving! Here is the interview with Paul Hunke!
