WARSAW, Ind (KWAD) – The Crown College Polars cross country teams competed at the NCCAA DII National Championships on Friday, and won their first-ever national title.
Freshman Mia Arroyo and Olivia Stanley of Verndale, who were both named to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Second Team last week, placed fourth and eleventh respectively in the 5K race. Arroyo finished the race in 20:07, and Stanley crossed the finish line in 21:11.
Crown sophomore Ella Dufault won the race with a time of 19:13, 33 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
The UMAC is an NCAA Division III member comprised of eight full-time member schools from Minnesota and Wisconsin: Bethany Lutheran College, Crown College, Martin Luther College, North Central University, Northland College, University of Minnesota Morris, University of Northwestern, and University of Wisconsin-Superior.
