New Saturday Workshop Series at NYM Cultural Center

New York Mills, MN—October 29, 2025— The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new creative workshop series this fall: “Morning with Megan.” Join us for the first session on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., featuring Floral Antler Watercolor Workshop led by our new Artistic Director, Megan Shirley-Ross.

Spend a relaxed and inspiring Saturday morning exploring your creativity! In this hands-on class, participants will create their own Floral Antler Watercolor artwork while experimenting with a variety of media — including traditional pan watercolors, watercolor pencils, and detailed pen finishes.

This class is perfect for all skill levels. Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to refine your watercolor techniques, Megan will guide you through exercises in brush control, layering color, and composition to help you create a beautiful, seasonal art piece to take home.

Together, we’ll explore:
🖌️ Watercolor techniques for layering and creating natural textures
🌿 Inspiration from Minnesota’s flora and fauna in art
🎨 Tips for blending and composition to create eye-catching designs
💬 A welcoming, creative atmosphere with time to connect and share ideas
