OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn.— Otter Tail County Commissioners will host a community open house on Monday, June 8, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Battle Lake City Hall at 108 Main Street. This is not a formal Board of Commissioners meeting but an opportunity for residents to engage directly with commissioners and county staff about local initiatives and services.
Commissioner Kurt Mortenson, representing District 3, invites residents to attend. “We welcome and encourage you to join us on June 8,” Mortenson said. “Come learn about the county’s work and share your thoughts with us.”
County employees from several departments will be on hand to share information and answer questions. Highlights of the event include:
-
Solid Waste staff will provide updates on the Henning Transfer Station and the successes of the single-sort recycling pilot program serving the area and discuss the recently funded Ash Processing Project for Prairie Lakes Municipal Solid Waste Authority.
-
The Community Development and Housing team will share information on available resources and provide project updates.
-
The County Engineer will discuss summer road projects, the county’s transportation safety action plan and general highway department updates.
Following the brief presentations, attendees can speak directly with county commissioners, ask questions, and provide feedback. Light refreshments will be served.
The event is open to all, and we look forward to seeing you in Battle Lake.
