OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. — Otter Tail County commissioners will host a community open house Monday, Nov. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Government Services Center, 500 W. Fir Ave., in Fergus Falls.
This is not a formal Board of Commissioners’ meeting. Instead, it gives residents a chance to talk with commissioners and county staff about local projects and services.
District 5 Commissioner Sean Sullivan invites residents to attend. “Good government starts with residents who are informed and involved,” Sullivan said. “This evening is a great way to get answers straight from staff and commissioners, and to let us know what’s working and what isn’t. We appreciate public input because it shapes the decisions we make.”
Staff from several county departments will share updates and answer questions.
Recycling: Solid Waste staff will update residents on single-sort recycling. Single-sort recycling lets residents put all their recyclables in one bin.
Roads and highways: County Engineer Jodi Teich will review road projects finished this year and preview projects planned for next year. She will also talk about how road maintenance may change in the years ahead. The Highway Department is updating its road improvement plan and wants to hear from residents.
Community projects: The Community Development team will highlight local projects underway across the county.
Family resources: Leaders from the Health and Wellness team will share progress on the Family Resources Center work in Pelican Rapids and New York Mills.
After short presentations, attendees can talk with commissioners, ask questions and share feedback. Light refreshments will be served.
The open house is open to everyone.
