OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn.—Otter Tail County is asking residents to review and comment on a draft Comprehensive Roadway Safety Action Plan before a May 12 deadline. The plan was developed through the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All grant program, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. It aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate serious injuries and deaths on county roads for all users, including people walking, biking, driving, using public transit, or operating commercial vehicles.

This plan uses a data-driven, community-informed approach to make roads safer. It analyzes crash data, identifies high-risk areas, and proposes practical solutions whether infrastructure improvements, public education, or enforcement measures.

How to Review and Comment

Three documents are available for public review at ottertailcounty.gov:

•  Executive Summary: A brief overview of the plan’s goals and key findings.

•  Safety Action Plan Report: The full plan with data analysis and recommended strategies.

•  Report Appendices: Supporting data and technical information.

Residents can submit feedback at surveymonkey.com/r/OTCSAP_form. The comment period closes the morning of Tuesday, May 12.

What Happens Next

The draft Safety Action Plan will be presented for final approval at the Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, May 26.
