
On Wednesday January 28th 2026 at approximately 11:42 AM the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a structure fire located in section 24 of Blueberry township. Upon arrival of emergency responders, it was found that the attached garage of a home was fully engulfed in flames, and was spreading the home as well as an RV parked next to the garage.
The occupants of the home were able to evacuate without injury.
Firefighters from Menahga, Sebeka and Park Rapids Fire Departments worked diligently in freezing
temperatures to extinguish the blaze. It is believed that the fire originated in the garage near a wood burning stove and sauna.
Also assisting on scene was the Menahga Police Department, Astera Ambulance, Wadena County Highway, and Minnesota Power.
