Our latest Wolverine Player of the Week is Bjorn Brunsberg, a senior on the cross country team!

Here’s what WDC head cross country coach Mike Brunsberg had to say about Bjorn’s performance last week.

“Bjorn’s finished 45th in the Class A State Meet this year–up 45 spots from his 90th place finish last year.  In the process, he ran the fastest Wolverine time at State in 19 years with a 17:06 (Rocky Jantzen, 16:49 in 2003). What makes his performance remarkable is the fact that he had to come back from a hip injury to get there…an injury that sat him out 7 meets leading up to his Conference Meet comeback.  He followed doctor’s orders, cross-trained as best he could, and competed with top-level intensity when it mattered most.  All in all, Bjorn finished strong as a senior–determined to go out on a high note under his own terms.”

Congrats Bjorn!

Here’s our interview talking about his season so far.
