Our Wolverine Player of the Week is senior cross country runner Johanna Brunsberg!

Here’s what WDC Head Girls Cross Country Coach Mike Brunsberg, also Johanna’s father, had to say about her performance last week.

In her 6th season of Wolverine CC, Johanna had never finished as our number 1 runner until this season–which she has now done both of our races so far. By getting out and setting a quick pace, Johanna helped establish the peak performance pace required of all five WDC “point-getters” to edge-out a quality Little Falls team. Following the example of Abby Motchenbacher (’19) and Kira Sweeney (’20), Johanna continues a recent tradition of senior girls starting the season in fine form. She has been consistent in practice and races for a long time, and even has the appropriate first name to make the Johanna Olson Invite all that it can be! Johanna Olson was bursting with positive personality and enthusiasm, and Johanna Brunsberg is much the same.

Congrats Johanna!

Here’s our interview with Johanna talking about her season so far.
