Our first Wolverine Player Spotlight is Emma Weniger, a senior on the girls tennis team!

Here is what Wadena-Deer Creek head girls tennis coach Lindy Thompson had to say about Emma’s performance last week.

“Emma has had a great start to her season! Coming off a full spring and summer of successful golf, Emma was ready to hop on the courts and get down to business. Emma has placed 2nd in both tournaments that we have attended so far this year, and has had wins across other matches as well. Notably she defeated Roseau’s 2 singles in a tight match to seal a section victory for our team.

While Emma has been impressive during matches, I admire her even more for her presence during practice and off the court. Emma has always been a strong leader for our team, and this year is no exception. Emma shows up early, stays late, and works hard every minute. She is a mentor to younger athletes and her mental toughness is something that everyone could learn from. It is no surprise that she is one of our captains this year. I am so proud of her and can’t wait to see what she does in the rest of the season!”
