Here’s Some Local Thanksgiving Events This Week

WADENA, Minn.– With Thanksgiving right around the corner, there are still plenty of community activities going on around the area. Here are some of them below.

31st Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner – St. Ann’s of Wadena

  • The 31st Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 25 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the St. Ann’s Parish Center in Wadena. They will be serving Thanksgiving dinner with smoked turkey by The BBQ Smokehouse turkey gravy mashed potatoes, cranberries, vegetables, dinner roll, pumpkin bar. Meals will be only in a drive-thru by the west end of the church or through delivery. For meal delivery, please call (218)-631-2617. There is no charge for the meal but they do accept donations of non-perishable food items or cash for the food shelf.

Thanksgiving Dinner – St. Edwards Catholic Church of Henning

  • St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Henning is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner on November 25 from 12-2 p.m. Turkey will be served with all of the trimmings until food runs out. The dinner is free and proceeds from the meal will be given to local charities. Local take-outs are available and you can call Darene Olson at 218-583-1087 for more information. In case of inclement weather, the dinner will be held on Sunday November, 28th from 12-2 p.m. or until gone.

Another community announcement is that the Wadena Public Library will be closed on Thursday, November 25th and Friday, November 26th in observance of Thanksgiving Day. The library will be open on Saturday, November 27th for their normal hours of 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The next holiday observed by the library will be Christmas Eve and Day, New Year’s Day, MLK day, and President’s Day.
