STAPLES-MOTLEY, Minn.– It was a big weekend for Staples-Motley wrestling.

Eli Greenwaldt reached career win no. 100 at the Mid-State Tournament Friday in Aitkin.

But that wasn’t all. Two others members of the Cardinals wrestling team hit the 50 win mark as Luke Bjerga and Jack Carlson both reached the milestone in Aitikin.

The Cardinals cruised to win the conference tourney and become the final Mid-State Conference champions as a team. Currently, Staples-Motley is 21-1 as a team this season and are the no. 2 seed in the Section 7A standings, only behind Mille Lacs.

Their next meet will be on Tuesday, January 30 at Bertha-Hewitt. It will be a quadrangular against Osakis, Pelican Rapids, and Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie.
