WADENA, Minn.– The Wadena-Deer Creek boys basketball team is continuing a strong season, thanks in part to a pair of seniors who have led the way for the Wolverines. Now, the pair have made an announcement to play basketball collegiately next season.

WDC seniors Teshe Loer and Peyton Church each signed their National Letter of Intent yesterday, committing to play basketball at Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M|State) in Fergus Falls.

The pair will play for the Spartans under first-year head coach at M|State Dave Cresap. Cresap previously spent decades as a Minnesota High School Hall of Fame coach for the Perham Yellowjackets. Dave Cresap is also the father of current Wolverine head girls basketball coach, Jordan Cresap.

Both Loer and Church each reached the 1,000 career point mark this season. On Tuesday, Peyton Church became the all-time scoring leader in Wolverine boys basketball program history against Sebeka.

The Wolverines are continuing another strong season. Currently, they are the no. 6 seed in the Section 8AA race with a 16-8 overall record. WDC will finish the regular season on the road against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Feb. 29 and in Parkers Prairie against the Panthers on March 1.
